Dr.Hauschka Rose cream

After reading about this cream for years in various magazines I thought I should give it a try. I once read that Kate Moss and other models swear by it and and that always leave me tempted. Bought this cream two weeks ago and have tried it both as a day cream and night cream.

According to Dr.Hauschka.com the cream is perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Even thoght I my skin is neither dry or sensitive I figured a gentle product with lots of moisturizers wouldn't do any harm.

The cream is really a cream. Thick and white with a sharp smell of roses. It glides on easily and that's about it.
OMG how much I hated it! It felt like it didn't penetate my skin at all, just went on top of it as some sort of shield. Althoght my skin felt soft I had to put another cream on as well to get the feeling that my skin was truly moisturized.
As I'm not one to give up on products after first time use I stuck to it for five days and still hate it. When using it as a night cream I woke up with dry and tight skin. And when my skin started to break out on day five I gave up on it.

I don't know who will benefit from this cream and from my point of view I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

HATED IT!

Shiseido The Skincare Day Moisture Protection SPF 15

I first tried this day cream some years ago and loved it! So sometime before christmas I thought it was time to try it again. Over the years I've used quite a lot of the products in Shiseidos "The Skincare" series and have loved them all. The cream really is a light lotion and a little goes a long way so it last for a long time.

This time around I wasn't at all that excited about the results. It do moisturise my skin really well, and thats all fine and dandy, but it didn't really do much for the apperance of my skin this time.

Considering that I LOVED it the last time I used it and now I just like it, I'll put the change of heart to the fact that my skin have gotten older. It's still wrinkle free, even toned and easy to take care of, but nowadays it demands skin care which do more than just moisturize.

I will keep on using it, under make up or sunscreen, it's a waste to throw it all away. But I don't think I'll by it again. Maybe I'll try the cream version which comes i a jar instead of a bottle.

So the bottom line is: The Skincare Day Moisture Protection SPF 15 is a great day cream up to the age of 25 og if you have mixed/oily skin. After 25 it's time to eiher try the cream version or another brand.

Elizabeth Arden Hydra - Splash Alcohol free Toner

If you think toner is a waste of time and money you are WRONG! Have you taken a closer look at the cotton pad after toning? My pads always have som more dirt on them after toning and it is really satisfying to see.

I tone EVERY time I cleanse. If I don't my skin becomes dull and soon the blackheads and other nasty things comes back one by one. When I choose a toner I always look for one without alcohol and one for dry skin. I really hate the ones from Clinique because they irritate my skin. The one I always comes back to is "Hydra - Splash" toner from Elizabeth Arden. It calms and hydrates my skin before moisturising and I swear my skin tone becomes more even. Definitly worth the time and money!

Philips Visasauna

I've only been to a profecional facial once because I got it as a gift, and I can't tell you how dissapointed I was. All the things she did I already do at home. She steamed my face, deep cleansed it, popped some pimples by using a sterile needle and gave me some sort of moisturising treatment.

I happen to own my very own facial steamer "Philips Visasuna" and is more than pleased with how it works. Once a week I steam my face for 15 minutes, cleanse and put on a face mask. When I steam I have a towel over my head to make sure the steam comes directly on my face.
The heat make you sweat and open your pores so det nasty dirt come out. After steaming my skin tone seem more even and my pores seem smaller.

I got the steamer for my birthday some years ago and don't know if it's still for sale. If you get youre hands on on hold on for dear life!

How I live

In addition to great skin care there are som key factors to why I have great skin.
  • Good genes. My mother 55, who think skin care means using body lotion on her face three times  week, still has great skin.
  • I don't smoke.
  • I drink maybe one or two times a month.
  • I try to exercice three times a week.
  • I eat healthy. Lots of veggies and no processed foods. I try to make all my food from scratch because it tastes a hell of a lot better and because processed foods make me gassy.
  • I take multivitamins and omega 3 every day.
  • I always get at least seven hours of sleep every night.

Boots Botanic Day Shift Moisture Lotion

I got this daycream for christmas from my mother, who have no idea about skincare. You could imagine my sceptik towards it, but I gave it a try and I was really suprised!

This really cheep daycream made my skin smooth as silk. As it don't has any SPF I only use it when i know I'll be staying at home all day. But I guess that during the summer I'll use it more because I use a sunscreen on top.

If you're looking for a cheep alternative to "Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion" this one from Boots will do the trick.
